Great fun for both beginners and experienced artists! Join Evelyn Kirkaldy for step-by-step instructions on creating lively, colourful birch trees using a simple acrylic painting technique. Some basic sketching skills can be helpful. Participants will go home with a finished work of art - a simplified version of the painting on the left.
Unless you choose to bring your own paint and tools, all materials, except canvas can be supplied.
Please bring a canvas or primed panel, approximately from 9” x 12” to 11" x 14".
Cost: $45 or $55 with supplies included.
Supply List - Refer to paint lists only. Please bring a variety of brushes, a blunt palette knife for mixing, rags or shop towels, and a large palette or palette pad.

All you will need is a small sketchbook, quality watercolour set, 2-3 brushes, small plastic pill bottle for water, pencils, eraser, sharpener....and snacks/lunch.
Bring a camera if you like. A folding chair can make the experience way more comfortable.

'Khuzeymateen - Valley of the Grizzlies' - Oil on Canvas - 24" x 8"

Learn how to create the feeling of 3-D space in your paintings. This workshop will be done in two phases. In the first class, we will use pencil, paper and ruler to grasp how structures diminish in size and disappear into the distance and how spaces between fences and windows can be divided believably, and more. Next, using acrylic paints, we will explore the use of colour, tone, value, and compositional elements to create depth within landscapes. Many materials supplied.
